Seventh-day Adventists tend to separate themselves from the worldly and secular, which often means separating themselves from people who do not hold Christian beliefs and values. According to the author, the purpose of this project is to deal with issues and methods for the development of a "salt-style" ministry in the secular society of North America. The paper seeks to encourage and empower individual members of the Adventist church to mingle in their non-Adventist and non-Christian community.

North American Division Local Conference Survey of Educational Costs

This paper presents a survey of educational costs. The extensive 6-page survey was sent to the 57 North American Division local conference superintendents of schools by the Columbia Union. Its purpose was to find out what percentage of a local conference tithe and total income (tithe, unrestricted non-tithe income, K-12 NAD Reversion Funds, and union subsidies) was spent in 1992 on K-16 education.

A total of 72 women pastors from the North American Division completed a questionnaire in the spring and summer of 1992.

Data was collected on members' spiritual experience, involvement in church, tithe and giving practices, and opinions on the church among other issues. The Minister as a Husband

Ministerial obligations often foster significant inequities where family life is considered. The minister as a husband alludes to the commitment taken at the alter of marriage and the unique advantage of working as a unit ministry. The author uses first hand accounts to emphasis the necessity of inclusion and consideration of spouses. In combating feels of isolation, lack of appreciation and discontent amongst spouses, this study examines the importance of providing a nurturing environment for spouses. Parameters examined include: Faithfulness and loyalty, respect for individuality, intimacy, priority and the lonely, disillusioned wives. The author suggests that ministers not regard their wife as a useful appendage someone to keep house, cook the meals, and keep the kids out of his hair. She is his second self a true partner in their shared life and ministry.

The Adventist Woman In The Secular World: Her Ministry and Her Church

This paper examines how best Adventist women may minister to their secular colleagues. It seeks answers to questions such as: Who is the Australian/New Zealand Adventist business and professional woman? How active is in her church? What assists or prevents her from ministering to her colleagues more effectively? To answer these questions, a survey was designed with a mix of multiple questions and open-ended questions. A total of 220 surveys were returned.

Its purpose was to gain information about the giving practices and attitudes of members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the five Pacific states. The survey was mailed to the pastors of the 100 churches. A total of 94 churches returned valid questionnaires.

The survey included women employed by the church from all around the world.

This paper is a report of a study conducted by the Institute of Church Ministry on the relative effectiveness of various approaches to the education of the Adventist ministry in North America. A survey was designed to gauge the perceived effectiveness of certain routes taken to ministry and administered to ministers, and another survey was administered to conference presidents and ministerial directors to gauge the ministerial effectiveness of these ministers. The results of these surveys are presented in this report.

Survey On The Status of Women Elders in The North American Division

This paper reports a survey on the status of women elders in the North American Division conducted by the Institute of Church Ministry. Its purpose was to find the number of female elders and male elders in the NAD, the number of women elders related to male elders, the size and type of the churches where female elders serve, the number of the years they served as elders, the attitudes of churches toward them and values or problems brought by women elders to the local church. Altogether 3331 questionnaires were completed and returned.
