Alignment Analysis of Online Courses
Abstract
Aligning learning activities and course assessments with student learning outcomes are an excellent way to ensure that each outcome is adequately covered. It is also a good way to analyze the relevance of every assignment to the content, learning level, and outcomes. You are invited to participate in an interactive workshop designed to enhance your knowledge in online course alignment. Biography
Denise Shaver serves half time Instructional Designer for DLiT and half time Off Campus Programs Director for the School of Distance Education. In her Off-Campus Programs role she actively investigates ways to improve delivery and assessment of education in the Andrews University domestic and international affiliate and extension higher education sites. In her Instructional Designer role, she oversees online course development, ensuring a quality experience for course authors, faculty teaching online, and ultimately the student learning experience. Prior to her current position(s)in the School of Distance Education she was the Assessment Coordinator for the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, a position that she held from 2012-2014. In 2014 she completed her PhD in Curriculum & Instruction from the School of Education at Andrews University. She also possess an Educational Specialist and Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the same institution. Her teaching career in post-secondary institutions began in 1997.
