According to University’s strategic plan, Andrews University will provide an academic environment that nurtures excellence in pedagogy and research in a strong faith environment; and be known for that excellence.

In an effort to provide this academic environment that nurtures excellence in pedagogy and research, the Faculty Institute is an opportunity to engage the entire faculty in professional development around themes that are important to us as an academic community. Accordingly, this year’s Faculty Institute is centered on the University’s four strategic initiatives: Live Wholly, Explore Intentionally, Engage Globally, and Learn Deeply, as well as a fifth strand to examine Emerging Practice. As such, the theme for this year’s Faculty Institute is Live Wholly: Explore! Engage! Create!

The University embarked on the four strategic Initiatives because each initiative is core to our identity. To Engage Globally, suggests that faculty and students are provided with opportunities to be culturally intelligent. Because we Engage Globally, the University has the capacity to not only add value to faculty and students’ Intelligence Quotient (IQ) and Emotional Quotient (EQ) but also their Diversity Quotient (DQ).

Thus, the year’s Institute is another step on our continued journey toward excellence. Let’s Live Wholly: Explore! Engage! Create!
