Proposal for Presentation
In the US, there is a clear achievement gap between kids that come from low income and high income school districts. Despite state governments already spending a lot of money on schools, many kids do not receive a quality education and therefore miss out on important opportunities for success. There are disagreements as to whether an increase in funding will improve the education of young Americans or if “throwing money at the problem” will result in a waste of resources and fail to close the achievement gap. Many believe that better school funding should produce better education, however, others argue that money is not the solution. The aim of this poster is to examine the evidence and reasoning of both sides of this complex issue.
