Proposal for Presentation

Are you a K-12 Adventist school principal or would like to be one? If you find yourself constantly thinking of and creating ways to sustain a positive learning environment at your school you are not alone. Many studies suggest that the struggle to maintain a positive culture in schools is directly tied to principals’ leadership characteristics (Beaudion and Taylor, 2004; Peterson and Deal, 2002). This breakout session will present four key principal characteristics that help maintain a positive culture in Adventist K-12 schools. Opportunity will be given for principals to share other strategies that work in their environment. Beginning principals, principal mentors, and teachers will find this session beneficial.
