Proposal for Presentation
According to the Chicago Center for Teaching, “planning a course is arguably the key ingredient in pedagogical success.” A great metaphor for course design is like planning a trip to some place you have never gone before. To get there efficiently, a good road map is a must; because without one the driver may end up there eventually but not without detours and missed directions. The great news for teachers is that there are many (20+) instructional design “maps” called models. The ADDIE, Kirkpatrick, and SAM models are three of those models. This session will give an overview of each model and show how they make a great roadmap for course design.
