Abstract
The JRCE mission remains the same—JRCE provides a vehicle for the scholarly interchange of research findings relative to every level of Christian education. Christian schooling within the Protestant tradition is the primary focus of the journal's contents, although the journal does publish research findings from other educational traditions that have implications for Protestant schools.
In terms of the purposes of the journal, we have added one purpose to expand the influence of the JRCE in our current era of politico-religious tensions. The first three purposes of the JRCE remain the same, while the fourth purpose was added in May 2015. The purposes of JRCE are to:
-
Stimulate inquiry among scholars of Christian education on topics of common interest;
-
Serve as a clearinghouse for the organization and diffusion of emerging research on the Christian school;
-
Communicate research findings that inform Christian educators as well as the wider society; and
-
Provide a venue for promoting interfaith understandings and collaboration within the community of scholars in faith-based education.
