Abstract
One of the major mistakes of many Christian interpreters in general and Seventh-day Adventists in particular is the attempt to apply the principles for interpreting classical prophecy to apocalyptic prophecy, without understanding the unique characteristics of biblical apocalyptic that distinguish it from classical prophetic literature. Therefore, in order to clarify this error, the present study firstly seeks to define—from a biblical perspective—the term “apocalyptic” and then point out and contrast the characteristics of both kinds of literature
