Measuring Magnification of Virtual Images Using Digital Cameras
Virtual imagery, Digital photography, Measurement, Magnification
The concept of virtual images and why they lead to angular rather than linear magnification of optical images can be vague for students. A particularly straightforward method of obtaining quantitative magnification for simple magnifiers, microscopes, and telescopes uses the technology that students carry in their backpacks—their camera phones.
