Abstract
Historically, Adventist scholarship has focused on those aspects of Hebrews that deal with events in the present (Jesus' high priestly ministry in the heavenly sanctuary) or in the past (his death on the cross). This is understandable since this is the focus of Hebrews' expository sections. Hebrews, however, was written from the perspective of "these last days" (Heb. 1:2) and is eschatologically oriented. Thus, the purpose of the work -- as evidenced in its exhortatory sections -- is to prepare readers for the final judgment. This paper will analyze Hebrews' teachings regarding the end, especially final judgment, and compare them with the teachings of eschatological works like Daniel and Revelation.
