Fireside Chat - SOARing at Multiple Levels: From Self to Team to the Department and University
Presentation Length
90 minutes
Abstract
At every level—team or organization—we find our greatest strengths and boldest opportunities within our shared aspirations, and together we create extraordinary results.” ~ Jackie Stavros
Join us for an interactive session that will spark new possibilities in how you think, plan, and lead. The SOAR framework—grounded in Appreciative Inquiry—transforms traditional approaches by empowering individuals, teams, and organizations to design innovative strategies with lasting impact. SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, and Results) invites you to dream boldly, act with purpose, and align what you do best with what matters most. In this session, you’ll explore how SOAR fosters collaboration, innovation, and resilience while anchoring strategy in strengths and aspirations. We’ll share three examples of SOAR in action—at the team, department, and organizational levels. Participants will learn how to apply SOAR at various levels in your organization in:
- Everyday strategic conversations
- Coaching and mentoring others
- Creating strategy at team level
- Developing strategic plans for departments, divisions, or the whole organization
Bring your guidebook from the keynote session. You’ll have an opportunity to draft a strategic conversation. Whether you're leading change, mentoring others, or rethinking your team’s direction, this session will equip you with practical tools and inspiration to lead with purpose and possibility.
