In this session, Christina Bieber Lake will lead faculty members to recover passion for teaching, rethink self-care, and reconsider approaches to classroom management. She invites faculty members to come with any questions on topics most helpful to them.
Biography
Christina Bieber Lake is the Clyde S. Kilby professor of English at Wheaton College where she teaches classes in contemporary American literature and literary theory. Her most recent books include “The Flourishing Teacher: Vocational Renewal for a Sacred Profession” and “Beyond the Story: American Literary Fiction and the Limits of Materialism.” A long-time Flannery O’Connor scholar, Christina publishes regularly on the intersection of theology and literary studies. She coaches, consults and occasionally blogs at https://christinabieberlake.com. She lives in Carol Stream, Illinois, with her husband and son.
