Proposal for Presentation
Interprofessional education (IPE) is designed to prepare students for collaborative practice in a dynamic healthcare environment. However, implementation of IPE remains challenging due to time constraints, busy schedules, and limited faculty resources. The purpose of this session is to describe the use of asynchronous and virtual activities to create a large-scale IPE event with participants from eight healthcare disciplines. Asynchronous activities ranged from high fidelity simulations to low fidelity inter and intra professional interactions between pairs of disciplines and case-based discussions or assignments. Virtual activities included synchronous small student lead group sessions and a large faculty lead debrief.
