Proposal for Presentation

This presentation presents the findings of primary and secondary research undertaken in 2021 on the changing needs of Seventh-day Adventist pastoral education in North America. The research was undertaken with a $50,000 grant from Lilly Endowment, Inc., and resulted in the successful award of a further $1 million. Three important needs will be addressed: (1) the reduction of debt levels amongst BIPOC theology graduates; (2) the strengthening of our urban pastorate; and (3) the equipping of pastors with the competencies required to reengage their churches with their communities.
