Proposal for Presentation
After using a Youtube video of actor, Siaka Massaquoi, to introduce a name origin writing assignment, a simple Facebook comment lead to a response from Siaka and immediate connections from L.A. to Saint Joseph. After creating introductory videos, 33 students contributed to google slides to share with the actor before a google hangout was scheduled in November so they could talk to him in real time. Because deep connections were made, instead of connecting via computer, he surprised the kids in real life and shared his message of positivity, love, and encouragement with the school. The footage of the visit was made into a SoulPancake short that has gone viral.
