Custodial History
Bought at the Sotheby sale by the London dealer William H. Robinson for £17 and sold at some point before 1948 to Maggs Brothers of New York. By 1948, the manuscript had become part of the Advent Source Collection at the Seventh-Day Adventist Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., almost certainly having been acquired by the historian Leroy Edwin Froom with funds provided by the General Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists (see Froom, The Prophetic Faith of Our Fathers: The Historical Development of Prophetic Interpretation (Washington, D.C.: Review and Herald, 1948), vol. 2, p. 660). The Seventh-Day Adventist Theological Seminary became part of Emmanuel Missionary College (subsequently renamed Andrews University) in Berrien Springs in 1960, and the Advent Source Collection of manuscripts was transferred to the new home over the next decade.
