Abstract
Problem
The Satellite District is composed of four churches belonging to the Seventh-day Adventist Association the Central Mexican Union, which maintains a limited and reduced teaching on the topic of marital sex education, despite the availability of governmental information, denominational publications, and other resources which indicates that it has been omitted from church programming for the last ten years. Within this context, the following research question was formulated: How does the lack of guidance and information on sexual education impact the marriages of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Satelite District in the second semester of 2023?
Methodology
The researcher developed a seminar addressing various dimensions of marital sexual education from the perspective of biblical literature, the writings of Ellen G. White, and contemporary literature. Through a careful analysis of the immediate context, the researcher established the foundation for designing, implementing, developing, and evaluating a marital sexual education seminar for the Satelite Church. Surveys were conducted to assess the outcomes of the project.
Results
The surveys conducted with participants assessed their opinions on the content, practical nature, delivery method, and attendance of the seminar. Based on the measurement scale used, the results indicate that 93% of participants rated their perception of the seminar as good to very good. It is worth noting that in both the first and second evaluations of the seminar, a minority of 1.7% expressed dissatisfaction with aspects such as the content, practical nature, delivery method, and attendance, among others. Lastly, direct observation shows that the seminar was well-received and positively accepted by all participants, helping them to prevent issues, provide guidance, and strengthen their marital relationships.
Conclusion
The results of the seminar’s implementation confirm the findings derived from the analysis of the Bible, the writings of Ellen G. White, and contemporary literature on the subject. They demonstrate that implementing a marital sexual education seminar can effectively address how the lack of guidance and information on sexual education impacts the marriages of the Satélite Seventh-day Adventist Church.
