Proposal for Presentation
Students and teachers carry a significant amount of stress and trauma within their personal lives; sometimes, the dynamics within a classroom can increase barriers for students without this intent. In addition, barriers may be exacerbated through course design and implementation. This presentation is developed as an introduction to evaluating your course design and ideas for embedding trauma-informed practices from the syllabus design to class activities. At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to identify principles of trauma-informed care within course design and instructor facilitation techniques that embed mental health education within course content.
