Proposal for Presentation

In an age of transnational mobility; multiple identities; and digital time-compression, the school/college is quickly becoming a convergence point where plurality and traditional heritage clash and where learners with varied academic, adjustment and sociocultural needs meet. These translocated learners may include those dealing with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) or personal and historical trauma; refugees and immigrants who have been uprooted from their familiar environments; or those whose milieu has been disrupted by forces of globalization and megatrends of a digital era. How then should a teacher approach the varied challenges of these learners as they pursue their dreams and navigate contours of change? This spectra call for an integrated, contextual model of education that seeks to understand the journey of each learner, their struggles and resources, as well as their potential and dreams.
