Superheroes with amazing abilities, heart melting stories about the triumph of the human spirit, life-like animation that unlocks our inner child; movies have always been a staple of pop-culture, but are there elements of Christian culture embedded within? Can these films that are at the forefront of our society have more to them than what meets the eye? This presentation will discuss how to dissect different genres of secular cinema for themes, language, and significant elements of Christianity hidden within them, and illustrate some tips and tricks on how to effectively use these concepts for spiritual growth in a religious educational environment.
