Students face significant challenges navigating a world of representations of the self through technology. For better and for worse, digital media of many sorts offer compelling, if at times competing, opportunities to create visual narratives by which individuals are located and locate themselves in social structures that can potentially impact teaching and learning. This presentation examines literature and experience that inform inclusive pedagogy that promotes positive student identity formation and academic success.
