Proposal for Presentation

Teenagers in high school stand on the brink of independence while the education that should be preparing them for life might be hindering the most crucial lesson of all: making good decisions. Should teachers arbitrarily decide the methods and content of their students' curricula or should teenagers be trusted with making their own academic decisions? Where should the line be drawn on student choice, and how does school determine the formation of a student’s identity? This presentation will explore the pros and cons of Choice Theory in the classroom.
