Proposal for Presentation

How can social responsibility be taught in schools to better inspire action? Social responsibility has always been an important theme of education, yet improvement could be made. Others have previously studied the failings and ameliorations of social responsibility education yet limited literature exists on how to use the specific planning tool, Theory of Change in relation to social responsibility education. However, it is clear that within modern society there is a deficiency in citizens’ engaging in social responsibility. This scarcity of socially responsible citizens can be remedied through inventions within the educational system. To target this problem a framework, Theory of Change, was applied to education for social responsibility to identify problems and create goals. Furthermore, this research shows how Theories of Change can help the development of education for social responsibility, aiming to develop the knowledge of social responsibility, the corresponding values, and enabling citizens to act on the skills that they have acquired.
