Description

Clergy play an essential role in providing spiritual guidance and support to their congregations; however, there is a concerning trend of turnover and burnout within pastoral ministry (Drumm & Cincala, 2021, 2023; Ivan et al., 2024). Research on the motivations, challenges, and factors influencing clergy members’ decisions to remain in or leave their positions in the Angola Seventh-day Adventist Church is limited. This study, utilized social exchange theory, aimed to explore the intentions of clergy regarding their decisions to stay or depart from pastoral ministry in Angola.
