As connectivity and accessibility increases, communication has evolved into a virtual reality that infects every aspect of life. Though the advancement of technology has added convenience to daily life, it has created boundary issues that has led many leaders to consider redefining the idea of private life. Schools face the same threat. As students become increasingly involved in extending globalization, with social media platforms at the helm, many schools believe that extending punishment for off-campus misdemeanors that disrupt education or school life is a necessity in the evolving social schema. This poster will discuss the legitimacy of these claims as well as the constitutional rights at risk.
