Proposal for Presentation

Increasingly, educators at every pedagogical level are flipping the traditional definitions of class time and homework: students view instructional lecture material as their take home “assignment,” while instructor and students problem-solve together during live class time. Advocates laud the “flipped classroom” model as a cost effective way to increase instructional quality & practical problem-solving skills. Other authorities caution that the method in its purest form may only cater to the success of already-advantaged students and educators, rather than aiding those struggling. This poster explores the successes and failures of flipped classrooms in the past, and looks to the model’s potential within increasingly virtual educational settings, post-pandemic.
