The ability to speak multiple languages has been proven to be advantageous because the skill provides numerous professional opportunities. Bilingual and multilingual people have been shown to have more advanced cognitive skills than those who speak only one language. They also develop multicultural skills, which enable them to thrive in an increasingly diverse society. Bilingual education is not available to all children in the United States as it is in some other countries. This poster will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of bilingual education and will make a case for its inclusion in all classrooms.
