Proposal for Presentation

Over the last 50 years, several state legislatures have enacted various packages to assist non-public schools. This presentation focuses on the public funds made available to private schools in New York, Arizona, and Michigan to illustrate this contentious issue. While some Adventists are enthusiastic about these “opportunities,” others are deeply concerned about the increasing “entanglement” of church and state, its consequences, and the ethical challenges associated with it. Is government funding a catalyst or an impediment to the fulfilment of the mission of Adventist education?
