The implementation of high-stakes reading assessments has impacted the instructional practices of elementary teachers. This session will examine the research-based impacts of high-stakes reading assessments on both the instructional practices and professionalism of teachers in the elementary classroom, as well as address practical ways teachers may respond to the pressures resulting from these assessments.
