Abstract / Resumen

The Facilitator in a Connected Learning classroom plays a vital role in the teaching and learning experience of connected students and their teachers. Facilitators are students’ direct supervisors within the connected classroom, and ensure good classroom management as well as optimal learning conditions at each connected campus location through the use of technology and the setup of the physical space. The facilitator also assists each course teacher with administrative tasks, provides support to students academically as needed, builds positive relationships with students, and acts as a teacher and school representative for students, families, and community stakeholders. The facilitator works with the school administrators and course teachers to create and maintain a positive and effective learning environment for students and build a sense of community on the connected campus. In this seminar, we will discuss the vital role of a facilitator and ways to develop this working partner within an connected learning environment.
