The use of IQ tests in education dates from the early twentieth century. Since their inception, there have been polarized discussions among proponents and opponents. Some of the questions at the heart of the discussion include: Can we really measure intelligence? Do we need these tests in the field of education? Are these tests able to achieve the intended goals? This presentation discusses the history of IQ tests and its purpose since their inception in the American Curriculum until the present day.
